Cleaning your glass art

Here is where you'll find info on how to care for your glass including:

Cleaning and mounting your stained glass piece.

And washing your hand painted glass piece.

Cleaning your stained glass.

Your stained glass art doesn't require regular cleanings. Only when it becomes dusty, has fingerprints or smudges or comes in contact with airborne contaminates. Fingerprints and dust can be quickly buffed off using a dry paper towel or a microfiber rag. If your glass requires a more intense cleaning you can use extremely diluted  vinegar water. Using a damp paper towel with the solution, wipe the glass only, avoiding the metal solder lines. immediately buff dry with paper towel or a microfiber cloth.  Q-tips work wonders for cleaning those tight spaces and small pieces. When all the glass is clean, the solder lines my also be buffed to a shine using your dry cloth.  Be sure to do this gently and don't apply too much pressure to your glass so it doesn't get broken during the process. Most of my solder for my stained glass pieces contains lead, so don't use the microfiber cloth with any other items to clean. It is now for cleaning this only.

Mounting your stained glass

You stained glass will come with the recommended hardware to hang your glass piece. I typically hang my items up with hooks, as they are a fool proof method of keeping your glass hung up long term. I do not recommend using suction cups. They can fail and will lead to devastating crashes. Using the hook(s) provided, install them into a ceiling joist, window frame or a wall stud. Make sure your hook is secured before hanging, and install plastic anchors if needed or desired.  Mounting tape may also be used as a secondary method of reinforcement when installing directly into a window frame or corner accent, just make sure to also use screws when securing an item into a corner.

For hand painted glass

Wash using a soft sponge or towel under warm water. Use a mild dish soap, such as Dawn or Sunlight and carefully wash the soiled areas of the item. Dry promptly with a soft towel or paper towel. Do not use anything abrasive on this item. Do not let this item soak in water. It is not recommended to put this item in the dishwasher, freezer or microwave. Do not let the paint come into contact with any hard alcohols.

For Soap Dispensers- Do not let water pool around the base of the dispenser and make sure the top and nozzle are clean of soap scum and build-up.

For Flower Pots- Keep indoors during rain and winter and make sure not to let water pool in the bottom of your pot, especially if there's a painted base attached to your flower pot.
